Docr’d

One plan for your research. Everything included.

Pro includes cloud sync, the web app, Ask Docr’d, paper discovery, and OCR that rebuilds scans into clean, searchable text. No credits to count; OCR is the only thing measured, in pages.

What an OCR page gets you.

A plain conversion gives you the characters it could find. Docr’d rebuilds the page as a document: the same page 142 of a scanned textbook, both ways.

Need more OCR? Add pages.

A page pack is a one-time purchase on top of a paid plan. Its pages never expire while your account remains open, and Docr’d never adds an automatic overage charge. See the billing terms.

Questions, answered.

What counts as an OCR page?

Each page you reconstruct counts once at Fast or Balanced quality and three times at Max, the slowest and most thorough. You choose the quality each time you run OCR. Reading, searching, and correcting pages you have already reconstructed is free.

Are Ask Docr’d and discovery really included?

Yes. There are no credits for questions, searches, or follows. Paid plans include them under fair use: ordinary research never reaches the limit, which is there to stop automated or shared-account use. If an account reaches it, those features pause until the next monthly reset, and we tell you in the app first.

What happens when I run out of OCR pages?

Nothing is charged automatically. Docr’d uses your monthly pages first, then any pack you have bought. Monthly pages reset each month, on yearly plans too, and unused pages do not roll over. Plan changes take effect at your next renewal; switching between monthly and yearly billing starts the new period when it is paid.

What happens if I refund a pack?

When a page pack is refunded, the pages it added are removed in proportion to the refund. If some were already used, the shortfall is deducted from future packs, never from your documents or your monthly pages. If you delete your account, unused pack pages are refunded automatically. See the billing terms.

How does the Free plan work?

Your desktop library is always free. Every new account gets free cloud access while places are available. Free places are capped at 50 accounts and a monthly budget; after that, new accounts join a waitlist and places go to waiting accounts in the order they joined. Your account shows your place or your position. A paid plan replaces a free place: starting one passes your place, or your spot on the waitlist, to the next account waiting, and if the plan ends you can rejoin the waitlist. Free OCR runs in the web app at Balanced quality and may pause when the shared free budget runs out.

What is available today?

The desktop app is free. Installers for macOS, Windows and Linux are on the downloads page. Hosted OCR runs from the web app, and from the desktop app on paid plans. Storage depends on your plan, and web libraries remain capped at 200 documents and 50 MB per upload. Encrypted desktop sync uses a separate relay quota.
